Gameweek 5 preview

After some thought, Gameweek 4 despite not being what I had hoped for was still a solid week and most mangers struggled so at this point a small red arrow is ok but I want to bounce back this week. I am still pretty happy with my team and will therefore stick to the plan and try and wildcard as late as possible unless I have too many issues, in which case I will use it, perhaps in the next major fixture swing for teams?

Ahead of Gameweek 5, I have gone early already using my one free transfer this week in order to sell Isak who dropped to 8.4 million, at the end of the gameweek 4 to bring in Kai Havertz of Arsenal. Isak also is a doubt due to an eye injury sustained in his last game. This was a move I spoke about and toyed with and although going early may come back to bite me as Arsenal play in the Champions League on Thursday before visiting Manchester City on Sunday, I am happy with my decision. Worst case scenario Havertz misses the City game for me and as I am not banking on major returns from him until the week after and I am able to cover with my bench players this week, I feel this decision is ok although rotation and injuries with European matches starting will begin to play a role in our teams.

I will most likely not take a hit for another transfer this week unless absolutely necessary and if I believe it will be worth it- that player needs to return otherwise the transfer was most likely not be worth it. I am also currently sticking to the Morgan Gibbs-White to Bryan Mbeumo plan for my transfer next week but unfortunately I may have to move early again as he has a good run of fixtures and I foresee him being transferred in a lot after the Tottenham match, meaning his price will likely rise which at this point would price me out of this move.

In terms of general transfer plans for our teams, after many wildcarded last week I would think that most should not be making too many transfers as the wildcard team should have been made for at least five gameweeks so for now stick to the plan, as you picked that team for a reason. If you did not wildcard also do not panic if you had a bad week I am sure most people wildcarding wanted more than they got, stick to your team plan and try to not be blinded by other people, this is my big thing this season.

The next blog will be my team selection for Gameweek 5 and transfer tips on the players managers are selling and buying and some hidden gems as well as some more information for our teams.
