This Gameweek marks the first time this season where I will publish multiple blog posts. The first will be a Gameweek preview of my personal plans and some transfer plans and thoughts on players that will be good picks for your teams as well as those who I personally think are being overhyped.

With the first international break of the season came a welcome break from FPL which is always nice, however, now it’s time to get back to it ahead of Gameweek four. Over the international break I was monitoring the injury situation for players  currently on my team and players on my watch list.

Coming into gameweek four while there is currently the 9th all-time most wildcards active across FPL I am pretty happy with my team for now, however, I do have some issues I need to address. One of those being that I still own Jarrell Quansah and need to move him on. I want to move him to a 4.5 ish defender but with him now priced at 4.3 I need to free up some funds from someone else. While I want to move Gvardiol on due to his lack of attacking potential so far this season, I want to keep him for Brentford and move him on for Man City’s tougher fixtures in gameweeks five and six.

Therefore I will most likely downgrade Morgan Gibbs-White to a 6 or 5.5 million midfielder with an abundance of options there such as Brighton’s Minteh (5.5) and Adingra (5.5), Ipswich’s Sam Szmodics (6.0), West Ham’s Paqueta (6.0) or Bournemouth’s Semenyo (5.6) amongst some other options. Another option I like less is moving Trent Alexander-Arnold down to Andrew Robertson which gives me 1.0 but I want Trent for his attacking ability. Another option is to sell Alexander Isak who also may go down in value soon due to the number of transfers out, however, his return last gameweek makes me want to give him at least one more week as he has a nice fixture against Wolves.

For now, I am just deciding who I will sell in order to change Quansah to a different and playing defender. Elsewhere in my team will most likely be the same or similar lineup for the next few weeks. The only other key decision will be which midfielder/ attacker I bench and what three defenders I play each week. My strategy for now is to target the fixtures, despite Joao Pedro returning against Arsenal last week. The only exceptions to this will be Trent, Salah and Haaland who I will almost definitely play against every opponent while they are in my team.
